In the 15th century style
The rectangular shelf with foliate and egg-and-dart carved underside, above the frieze carved to the centre with a roundel depicting Hercules slaying an adversary, flanked to each side by a hippocampus mounted by a putto, and with further putti and birds among scrolling foliage, the corners each carved with an eagle with outspread wings, the panelled jambs each headed by a tablet-bearing female, supported on a foliate-carved upright, flanked by birds and on pedestal base flanked by a pair of winged sphinxes, on stepped rectangular foliate-carved block foot
