With a carved wooden border and in a moulded ivory frame.
Traces of gilding on the wooden border.
1 7/8in. (4.8cm.) diam.

Lot Essay

The scene shows Joseph being released from the well by his brothers to be sold into slavery in Egypt. The camels in the distance represent the caravan of the Midianite merchants who are seen bartering in the foreground.
