An Attic red-figure squat lekythos
450-425 B.C.
Black glazed with seated sphinx in profile looking down at a tendril, her wings outstretched, additional details in dilute paint, (repaired from fragments); and an Attic red-figure Kalpis hydria, attributed to the Achilles Painter, inscribed "kalos" on shoulder in added white, flying figure of eros reaches out to take the hand of a young women who shies away, the latter wearing elaborate flowing drapery and holding up a cloak behind her in her upheld hands, eros holding long fillet(?) in his right hand and wearing dark binding on left foot, added white detail, ovolo band above and below scene, (repaired from fragments with minor restoration)
