A group of ten scarabs
Comprising a dark grey stone scarab, with decorated wing case, 1¾in. (4.7cm.) long; a felspar scarab, carved naturalistically with legs folded underneath; another similar in gneiss; another, in dark stone; another similar in turquoise 'faience', 2.5cm. long max., all Late Period/Ptolemaic, circa 6th-3rd Century B.C.; a steatite scarab, rev. sun-boat and kneeling man holding two notched palm branches; another, rev. royal falcon and uraeus, Saite period; another two, fragmentary, 1.8cm. long, Ramesside, circa 1300-1200 B.C.; and an Etruscan globolo cornelian scarab, rev. satyr and young goat, 1.5cm. long, 4th Century B.C.
