A GEORGE II MAHOGANY SECRETAIRE-BOOKCASE
The rectangular dentilled cornice with a scrolled broken pediment centred by an urn with acorn finial, above a pair of geometrically- glazed doors enclosing three adjustable shelves, the lower section with a fitted secretaire-drawer with concave cut-cornered panelled front, enclosing a fitted interior of harewood fronted mahogany-lined small drawers and pigeon-holes above three graduated drawers on shaped bracket feet, with dealer's label to the reverse for 'Norman Adams Ltd/8-10 Hans Road, London SW3', minor restorations, the bracket feet extended by 2in. (5cm.) to their original size, the reverse of the secretaire-flap probably previously leather-lined and re-veneered
