A pair of Capodimonte (Carlo III) coffee-cups and saucers
Circa 1750, blue fleur-de-lys marks
The cups of flared deep form and with moulded angular gilt scroll handles, painted by Giovanni Caselli in a stippled pale palette with equestrian figures and warriors skirmishing within richly gilt cartouche-shaped scroll panels within gilt pendant scroll and foliage borders (some very slight rubbing to handle and gilt footrim of one cup) (2)
