Lot Essay

Only one other example of this model would appear to be recorded at Capodimonte, see Angela Caròla-Perrotti, Le Porcellane dei Borbone di Napoli (1986), pp. 180-181, no. 119 where Angela Caròla-Perrotti persuasively suggests that the two component figures are derived from Pietro Longhi's, Il concertino di famiglia and Lezione di geografia. For the lady looks much more as though she is singing than posing and the artist is in a didactic attitude.
