A Meissen chinoiserie hexagonal tea-caddy and cover
Circa 1725, gilder's numerals 84. to both pieces
Painted in the manner of P.E. Schindler, each panel with a single Oriental figure, carrying birds on a perch, smoking and carrying a teapot, holding fans, in a pointed hat and holding a steaming bottle and a lady holding a banner, on terraces beside flowering plants and beneath birds and insects in flight, the angles with concave gilt ribs, the shoulder richly gilt and the circular cover with a stylised gilt rosette (slight rubbing to shoulder, slight chip to rim of cover)
