Modelled by J.J. Kändler and naturally coloured with red and black heads, green backs and wings and black tips to wings and tail feathers and yellow and grey breasts, perched astride tree-stumps applied with foliage (both with damage to top beak, lower beaks with restoration, minor damages and repairs to foliage)

Lot Essay

This model is recorded in Kändler's Taxa for February 1733, '1 Grünspecht' and in March 1734, '1 Grünspecht auch in Lebengrösse und ruhet auf einem verzierten Postament'.
