A Pair of Meissen models of Guineafowl
Circa 1745, blue crossed swords marks, one at back
Modelled by J.J. Kändler, with iron-red combs and wattles, purple heads and necks and white-spotted black bodies with a white patch to their backs, black legs and feet, standing astride tree-stumps issuing branches of foliage and one applied with ears of corn (restoration to one claw on each bird, some chipping to leaves and corn)

See Kändler's Taxa for September 1741 where he records this model 'Eine Perl Henne in Thon poussirt von mittelmässiger Grösse, welche ebenfalls Compagnon gegen eine andere Perlhenne abgeben soll, damit solche Stücke allzeit gegeneinander sehen'.
