A large Iznik dish in the Wallace Collection, London, has an identical border to that found here, but with the central field containing a peacock among palmettes and saz leaves (Robinson, W.J.: 'And a Peacock in a Saz Tree', Apollo, Vol.CXXX, no.331, September 1989, pp.166-170). The design is also used around the sides of an Iznik pencase in the Louvre (Atil, E.: The Age of Sultan Süleyman the Magnificent, Washington, D.C., 1987, pl.93, p.268).
