Mei: Bishu Osafune Katsumitsu and dated Eisho hachinen (1511) nigatsu-bi, 16th Century
The blade honzukuri, iorimune, a bo-hi to each side, with chu-gissaki, very slight torii-zori, forging pattern mokume, tempered edge gunome choji ha of nioi with tobiyaki, jizo-boshi, tang machi-okuri, 56cm.; encased in a saya resembling snake skin with silvered metal kojiri of dragon and shibuichi kurikata decorated with heron, cotton wrapped tsuka with shakudo fuchi-kashira depicting Sambaso in iroe takazogan, large shakudo and gilt menuki of warriors and a mokkogata shakudo nanako tsuba decorated with gilt kiri, 19th Century
