A TOSA CHOSON SCHOOL KATANA IN TACHI KOSHIRAE AND A STAND

The blade honzukuri, iorimune with chu-gissaki, koshi-zori, forged with itame and masame, tempered edge suguha of nioi, tang ubu, 66cm.; encased in nashiji lacquer tachi mount , the hilt buff white cotton bound all equipped with tachi brass mounts carved with foliage, menuki in the form of dragon and a gilt tachi tsuba; and a sectional black lacquered tachi stand decorated in gold and iroe hiramakie with butterflies and flowers beside rocks, (lacquer chipped), 19th Century, 65.5cm. high overall (2)
