Provenance
Acquired from Phillips of Hitchin on the 7 June 1947 and invoiced as 'An exceptionally choice painted pembroke Table c. 1785, with border containing landscapes delicately worked in grisaille surrounded by floral motifs in natural colour. The plain centre panel of the top inside this oval border has been somewhat retouched, and the brass handles are new £68 - -'.
