The double-edged blade stamped on one face with a crowned 'R' mark and 'Co. III' and on the other with 'C' and 'To 1781', the iron hilt with asymmetrical double upturned shells, slender arms, vertically recurved quillons and knuckle-guard with moulded button terminals, globular pommel, and wire-bound wooden grip reinforced with longitudinal iron strips, in original iron-mounted leather scabbard with trumpet-shaped mouth reinforce, locket with suspension-ring
