The first with four-stage brass barrel turned and belled at the muzzle, signed octagonal breech, engraved tang, signed flat bevelled lock (replaced), later walnut full stock (repairs), engraved brass mounts including trigger-guard with acorn finial, and later ramrod (front ramrod-pipe replaced), London proof marks; the second with rebrowned damascus barrels signed on the rib, signed scroll engraved back-action locks, action, reblued mounts and under-lever en suite, finely figured walnut butt, chequered grip, and chequered hinged fore-end, London proof marks
