An unusual 11-bore flintlock militia musket
by H.W. Mortimer & Co., London, circa 1800
With tapering barrel retained by three barrel-bolts, turned at the rear of the breech and inscribed 'London', plain tang, signed flat lock with roller and rainproof pan, the steel-spring adjustable for tension, figured walnut three-quarter stock, chequered grip and fore-end, the former with inset brass escutcheon engraved 'H. Tripp', brass mounts including fore-end cap and solid side-plate, and original iron ramrod, London proof marks
