A 140-bore Silesian wheel-lock Tschinke
Second quarter of the 17th century
With swamped octagonal sighted barrel cut with eight grooves and with three panels of punched decoration retaining faint traces of gilding, characteristic lock also with punched decoration and faint traces of gilding, the pierced cock engraved with a hare, foliage and a monster's head, full stock profusely inlaid with horn animals, monsters, masks, scrolls and pellets (minor losses and replacements) within horn lines enriched with mother-of-pearl, the butt inlaid with a putto riding a marine monster above the patch-box cover, and with a mounted sportsman and his dog in pursuit of a boar on the cheek-piece, iron trigger-guard, engraved horn butt-plate (chipped) with iron button, and later wooden ramrod
