The scroll-shaped chased carrying handle to cushion moulded top with pierced wood frets to the front rail and in two panels to each side, the 5 in. by 5½ in. dial signed across the top Cha. Gretton London between foliate scrolls and centred by the date aperture with setting slot, winged cherub spandrels to silvered chapter ring, false pendulum aperture to the matted centre with central silvered alarm disc and pierced blued hands, the five-ringed pillar twin gut fusee movement with knife-edge verge escapement with foliate pierced backcock, pulleys for pull quarter repeat and alarm on profuse florally engraved backplate with repeat signature within a wheatear oval, shaped and engraved ratchet and clicks, pendulum holdfast, steel brackets to case
