Enamelled around the exterior with four circular panels enclosing various auspicious objects including elaborate hanging lanterns, vases issuing flowers, archaic vessels, a musical stone and ruyi-sceptre, reserved on a sgraffiato leafy meander ground embellished with scrolling lotus, the centre painted with an octagonal motif radiating foliage and butterflies within four elaborate tasselled lanterns
