A Silver-gilt Charka

The interior chased and engraved with a mermaid, lobster, whale, seahorse, cuttlefish and two fish with in a border of scoll and geometric motifs, the centre applied with the figure of a swan, the exterior with birds in floral and foliate scrolls, the edge engraved with the Russian adage 'Charka of an honest man, drink from it to your health, praising God', the handle chased in relief with Samson struggling with the lion amid briars, on lobed and flared foot
