AN INLAID CELADON BOTTLE
KORYO DYNASTY (12TH CENTURY)

The pear form bottle vase rising from the short ring foot to the slender neck ending in a flared mouth, inlaid in white and black slip with attenuated stands of chrysanthemums, white slip florets and black stems and leaves, below lappet panels of cloud wisps and above a band of stiff, pointed leaves at the base, each of the chrysanthemum and cloud panels framed by parallel lines in white and black slip and by incised narrow channels which separate the body into six lobes, covered by a pale celadon glaze pooling more green in the channels--13½in. (34.4cm.), neck a later restoration
