A BLUE AND WHITE BRUSH HOLDER
CHOSON DYNASTY (18TH CENTURY)

Of cylindrical form with flat rim ending at the inverted foot with very slightly recessed base, incised at the neck with a slender line and above the slanted foot with a double line, painted in underglaze blue with a gnarled tree in full leaf, the full moon surrounded by haze, s-curved clouds, grasses and rock and decorated with a white glaze with distinct blue tinge, incised line on base--5in. (12.7cm.) high, 5 1/8in. (13cm.) diameter, restoration below rim
