The large urn of globular form applied with stylized dragon handles and inlaid in high relief with pheasants, sparrows and flowering cherry branches finished in various patinae, many of the leaves gilded, the cylindrical neck and handles inlaid in silver and red copper with foliate scroll and fretwork, the urn set on a splayed base supported by five dragon heads resting on a circular plinth, the base and plinth inlaid in silver with flowers or diaperwork; the urn surmounted by a domed cover inlaid in silver with formal foliate scroll and applied with a tall finial cast in the form of an eagle attacking a monkey, finished with a black patina, the talons gilt and the face of the monkey golden brown--26¾in. (68cm.) high overall
