A CONTINENTAL SILVER TANKARD, 19th century,
cylindrical, gilt lined, chased with strapwork scrolls, fruit and grotesque masks, on finely matted ground, divided by three differing masks, between chased husk and flat chased guilloche borders, with multi scroll handle with bifurcated thumbpiece, the conforming hinged molded cover topped by ball finial, base underside engraved with two coats-of-arms and initials--6½in. (16.5cm.) high, 14.5oz.
