A CONTINENTAL SILVER TANKARD, probably late 19th century, cylindrical on spreading base, the sides chased with Bacchanalian scene on scrolled and matted ground, with undulating foliate scroll borders, with monster topped scrolled handle, the base and cover chased with satyr's masks and scrolls, the hinged raised cover with satyr's horns thumbpiece, and topped by baluster finial (one foot lacking)--10½in. (26.6cm.) high, 28.5oz.
