CIRCA 1914 HENDERSON TOURING CAR

Chassis No. not known
Black.

Engine: four cylinder, in-line, L-head, 44 bhp; Gearbox: three speed manual; Brakes: mechanical on rear wheels; Suspension: semi-elliptic springs front, three-quarter elliptic springs rear. Left hand drive.

Built in Indianapolis from 1912 to 1914, the firm offered both four and six cylinder motorcars during that period. The Henderson family would later gain success building motorcycles bearing their name.

This car is in well-preserved original condition and appears to have covered a modest mileage since new. Bodywork appears very good but there is some surface rust on the fenders and splash pans. The interior is complete and could possibly be saved in its original state if treated sympathetically. Top is a good original.

This is possibly the only remaining example of the Henderson automobile and offers prospective buyers a moderately priced entry to brass-era auto tours and events with the major U.S. clubs.
