LATE 17TH/EARLY 18TH CENTURY
The humpback toprail of the 'official's hat' armchair with projecting ends supported on the slender back posts continuing to the back legs, the curved splat a solid, undecorated panel, the delicately proportioned arms supported by side posts and projecting beyond the front posts, the frame with 'ice-plate' edge enclosing a soft-mat seat above legs joined by humpback stretchers with vertical 'pillar' struts and stepped stretchers below, the footrest with a plain apron
