HARRY AGGANIS SINGLE SIGNED BASEBALL
An official American League baseball signed on the sweetspot by Harry Agganis. The popular "Golden Greek", won the Red Sox starting first base job in 1954. The next year he was batting over .300. After a doubleheader on May 15, 1955, in which he collected five hits, he complained of chest pains. He was diagnosed with pnuemonia and a little over a month later died from a pulmonary embolism at the age of 25.
