The gilt chapter disc with Arabic chapters and blued steel hands, the foliate-engraved center with signature cartouche engraved Planchon à Paris, the movement of typical carriage clock format with gilt platform lever escapement and strike/alarm on a blued steel gong, the alarm-set disc planted on the backplate, the foliate-cast and chased case with a pierced gilt-brass dome above enclosing the bell and surmounted by a winged cherub, fluted pilasters to the sides and on bun feet; with gold-tooled brown leather travelling case with a silk and velvet-lined interior
