The first worked in high relief with a scene of a mounted rider and attendant with Mt. Fuji in the distance, the reverse with a scene of Enoshima, gilt details, inscribed Shiunsai Hirochika, and with kakihan on the base, three inner cases of polished silver, fitted with an ojime in the shape of a vase and an ivory netuske carved as a shishi resting one paw on a drum and plinth; the second cast in high relief and finished in various soft metals with a scene of Kinko riding a giant carp, the reverse with a group of chinese figures on the bank looking on, inscribed Shunmei hogan saku, Tofu Sumidagawa hen, the sheath with openwork clouds on both sides revealing the silver inner cases which are signed Shitaijishi Uchida Jokichi, fitted with soft metal ojime representing Daikoku, and a kagamibuta netsuke, the soft metal plate cast in relief with a turtle and moon--2½ and 3in. (6.4 and 7.5cm.) high (2)
