The inro of oval shape decorated in gold, silver and red takamaki-e on a kinji ground with a scene of Hotei seated in a cart conversing with a boy attendant, the reverse with three children dancing with a lion mask, heads of the figures inlaid in ivory, details in kirigane and hiramaki-e, interior cases in nashiji; fitted with a laquer bead ojime and a faceted gold mokume netsuke --3 3/8in.
