THREE LACQUER INRO

The first of oval section decorated on each side with a sennin in iro-e togidashi on a roiro ground, interior cases in nashiji, with a soft metal ojime and an ivory netsuke carved as a spider web and applied with a bronze spider; the second of oval section depicting the Chinese warrior Tsao Tsao crossing the Yangtze in a boat by moonlight, decorated in takamaki-e and hiramaki-e on a black lacquer ground streaked with red, fitted with a lacquered bead ojime and a red lacquer mask netuske; the third of rectangular shape decorated in gold and black hiramaki-e on a roiro-nuri ground with a dancer performing with a fan, the reverse with three pines and various stage implements, fitted with a rectangular lacquer ojime and a wood netsuke carved in the form of an old man holding a jar--3 3/8, 3¾, 2 7/8in. (8.6, 9.6, 7.2cm.) high, nicks and surface wear (3)
