An original working Tricorder from the television series of the 1960s. The Tricorder was named for its three basic functions: record, measure and analyze. In itself a very sophisticated piece of communication, the Tricorder was always carried by at least one member of the Starship Enterprise landing party; usually the science officer; it was also used as an audio-visual recorder. In "City On The Edge Forever" episode, Spock indicates that his Tricorder is capable of recording the images flashing by on the "Guardian Of Forever."
