The Northern Counties side includes six Nottinghamshire players, among them Barker who was the major wicket taker for his side, and as number 4 batsman made the highest score, 24 in the second innings. However, the Northerners were twice skittled out by the bowling of Hillyer and Bayley, and lost by 43 runs.
