A Wedgwood & Bentley white terracotta stoneware vase and cover
with gilt overlapping-foliage loop handles terminating in Ceres' masks, applied with an oval medallion of The Three Graces enriched in gilding on a ground sponged and streaked in green and grey to simulate stone, the slender neck with a domed cover above a band of beading, the spreading circular foot with a border of berried laurel enriched in gilt, supported by a square black basalt base moulded with a band of stylised acanthus leaves, impressed WEDGWOOD & BENTLEY ETRURIA wafer mark -- 12¼in. (31cm. ) high. circa 1775 (gilt ribbed and retouched, fitted for electricity)
