Two items of transfer-printed creamware
comprising: an oviform jug printed in black with The Pipe and Punch Party and with a named figure of HOPE within an oval husk cartouche with fruting vines pendant from a bow below the spout, possibly Liverpool -- 8¼in. (21cm.) high, circa 1785 (hairline cracks to rim, star-crack near foot and chips to footrim); and a cylindrical mug printed with The Tythe Pig, titled above an inscription, with entwined ribbed handle with leaf and flower terminals, Staffordshire or Yorkshire -- 5 7/8in. (15cm.) high, circa 1768 (cracks to rim and staining)
