A Dillwyn's (Swansea) 'Etruscan' ware two-handled vase
the redware baluster body decorated in black reserved with vignettes of two classical figures of ladies driving a chariot drawn by four horses, the reverse with a bearded God and three maidens, below a band of stylised scrolling foliage, the flared rim with egg and dart, beaded and scroll ornament, printed mark -- 15in. (38.1cm.) high, circa 1847-50 (large chip to footrim, some other chips to rim, firing crack to top interior of one handle)
