A Charles II ebony striking bracket clock

The case with moulded flat top and large central rectangular panel centred by a large foliate-tied gilt-metal handle, glazed sides, front door lock lacking, rear door lock replaced, the 9 in. sq. gilt dial with winged cherub spandrels, the matted centre with calendar aperture below XII, brass chapter ring unusually secured to the dial with eight back-pinned feet, pierced blued steel hands, latches to the dial feet (two re-positioned), the movement with tall thick brass plates secured with five (previously seven) ringed and latched pillars, bolt-and-shutter maintaining power, hour strike on a bell via an outside calibrated countwheel with a centrally engraved rosette, the going barrels and fusees now replaced by later Continental examples, the back-plate engraved in the typical style with tulips and signed across the centre Johannes Fromanteel Londini, alterations to movement and possibly case
