Dent No 3101; Circa 1890
The silvered dial signed Dent, 61 Strand London Chronometer Maker to the Queen, No 3101, Roman hour numerals, gold hour and minute hands, subsidiary seconds and up-and-down dials with blued steel hands, Earnshaw escapement, Dent staple balance, blued steel helical balance spring, dovetail detent to side of banking block with jewelled locking stone, flat glass, brass bowl inscribed Dent 3101 and with "percussion cap" cover to key hole, gimballed in three-tier mahogany box, the middle section with inset bone disc inscribed E J Dent 61 Strand London, Dent pattern external brass drop handles.
