The case on gadroon-carved ogee-moulded base on foliate carved feet, bevelled glasses to the sides, the gadrooned pagoda top with large escapement viewing portal and gilt brass handle, the gilt dial intricately engraved with flower heads among scrolling foliage on a hatched ground, the painted Roman chapter ring signed James McCabe Royal Exchange No. 2382, blued steel sword-hilt hands, strike/silent lever above XII, the movement with five vase-shaped pillars, twin chain fusees with Harrison's maintaining power, three-arm balance to platform lever escapement, hour and half hour strike on bell mounted on the back-plate signed James McCabe London.
