An Edwardian brass mantel timepiece of chronometer format

The brass case of typical chronometer format but with handle and hinged feet, the silvered Roman and Arabic dial signed Chas. Frodsham 115. New Bond St. W. No. 2129, by appointment to the King, up-and-down dial indicating 8 days of going flanked by Royal appointment and gold medal honours, the movement with circular spotted plates secured by three conical pillars with polished steel screws, single chain fusee with maintaining power, high grade free-sprung gilt platform lever escapement with steel and gold bimetallic compensated balance, reversed silvered seconds disc on the contrate arbor mounted to the back-plate, the whole movement released through the front bezel in typical chronometer fashion; with an ebonised wood cradle
