The case engraved overall with scrolling foliage and surmounted by a robust handle cast with foliage in high relief, well cast acorn finials to the angles supported on columns cast with foliage in high relief, simiarly engraved rear door, the foliate cast base stamped with the case makers mark L. LANGE in three seperate places, on four bun feet, the silvered dial with Roman chapter ring, engine turned centre with recessed seconds ring at XII, blued moon hands, the four pillar twin chain fusee movement with maintaining power, Earnshaw spring detent escapement with typical bi-metallic compensated balance having a blued steel helical spring with diamond endstone, strike on blued steel gong of circular section with trip repeat to the side, hand-set square to top left hand corner of the backplate engraved in the centre Arnold CHAs.
