Lot Essay

Hung Chong and Co, or Hung-cheong, were established at Club Street, Honan Island, Canton and also at 11-B Nanking Road, Shanghai, during the last quarter of the 19th Century and first quarter of the 20th Century. They were said to be 'Leading and Respectable' and quite prolific. For other examples of their work, cf.
