QIANLONG SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD

Painted in strong blue tones and simulated 'heaping and piling' with prunus, peony and lotus sprays above fruiting branches of lychee, peach and pomegranate between upright stiff-leaves around the base and a collar of lotus panels around the shoulder, the neck with floral sprays

A similar vase from the E. T. Chow Collection is illustrated by Beurdeley and Raindre, Qing Porcelain, pl. 153 and by Macintosh, Chinese Blue and White Porcelain, pl. IX. Another example from the T. Y. Chao Collection was exhibited at the Hong Kong Museum of Art, 1978, sold in Hong Kong, 19 May 1987, lot 271 and is now in the S. C. Ko Tianminlou Collection, illustrated in the Catalogue, vol. I, pl. 63.
