AN UNUSUAL GILT-SPLASHED BRONZE TRIPOD CENSER
XUANDE FOUR-CHARACTER MARK, 17TH CENTURY

The globular body resting on three stout feet, the shoulder slightly raised and waisted beneath the flat rim applied with a pair of curving loop handles, the seal mark within a rectangular recessed panel at the base, the warm golden-brown patina with irregular gold splashes (minor nicks to rim and one foot and minor old repair to body)
7 1/2 in. (19 cm.) diam.
