AN EXPORT IVORY OCTAGONAL SEWING-BOX AND COVER
19TH CENTURY

Intricately carved with various figures in boats, pavilions and on foot amidst trees, the top enclosed by a band of flower-heads, birds and insects and the edges variously decorated with bamboo and key-fret designs, the interior fitted with bobbins, needle-case, spindles and thimble, supported on eight claw-feet and applied with metal handles, hinges and lock (age cracks)
