A VERY RARE KINGFISHER FEATHER PANEL
CIRCA 1760

The dark brown velvet panel applied with kingfisher and peacock feathers to depict a pair of paradise flycatchers, one in flight, the other perched on an aged pomegranate tree bearing ripe fruit, flowers and pointed leaves with a fruiting grape vine entwined around it's branches on which clamber two small squirrels, all above tree peony, an ornamental rock, chrysanthemum and bamboo, the tendrils and detail picked out in couched gold wire, the birds eyes set with opals
