The Macallan Distillery which stands in Craigellachie, was formally accorded legal status in 1824. For centuries, until more recent times, The Macallan was distilled by the same family. The same small hand beaten copper stills are used followed by maturation in oaken sherry casks to this day, a small quantity of the best casks are set aside to mature further in the mellowing oak, the contents are released to offer one of the worlds finest malts as offered in the above lot
