Long hot summer, early harvest in Champagne. Coincidentally noted recently at a Bacchus Society of America tasting at Krug's: medium-deep straw colour with very fine mousse; the scent of woodland fungi that opened up beautifully in the glass, flavour to match. Dry. Well preserved. MB
